Higher recovery.
Brand protection built in.

Sidestream helps CPGs, distributors, and grocery retailers recover more value from surplus and short-dated inventory by pooling demand across a network of independent grocers. AI-driven outreach aggregates small buyers into full truckloads, so you get clean purchase orders and faster turns — typically with pickup in days.

The problem

Your primary channels won't take everything.

Short-dated, overproduced, seasonal, off-spec — these lots don't fit your regular buyers, but they're still worth real money. The alternatives are thin: a single liquidator offering pennies on the dollar, or a write-down. Meanwhile your trade team is too busy to run fifteen small deals to capture a better price.

What we do differently

Pooled buyers.
Consolidated freight.

Traditional liquidators give you one buyer at a low price. Marketplaces give you a listing and wait. Sidestream actively sells into a network of verified independent grocers — pooling multiple buyers so no single one has to take the full lot, and consolidating freight so you ship once.

AI does the outreach, matching, and coordination that used to require a team of brokers. You get the recovery of ten well-run individual sales with the cleanup of a single closeout.

Differentiator Principal, not broker

One counterparty.
One PO.
One invoice.

However many buyers we pool, you sell to Sidestream. Clean closeout, every time.

Your rules, enforced

Brand protection built in.

Every lot ships under constraints you set:

01
Pricing floor
Your minimum. Period.
02
Approved & blocked buyers
Lists or channel types.
03
Channel restrictions
No e-commerce, no Amazon, no international — you pick.
04
Geography limits
Lock it down by region.
05
Minimum lot & pack sizes
Keep it above your threshold.
06
Label & relabel requirements
Brand safety on the freight.

Every buyer is verified before they see your product, and the rules you set up front are enforced on every downstream sale.

Supplier FAQ

Plain answers.

Is Sidestream a liquidator?

No. A traditional liquidator gives you one buyer at one low price. Sidestream buys the lot outright under a single PO, then places it across multiple verified grocers so no single buyer has to take the full load — which is what makes a better price possible. Higher recovery, same clean closeout. More in our guide to how grocery closeouts work.

Do you buy the inventory? +

Yes. Sidestream acts as principal on every deal. We make an offer against your floor and your rules; when you accept, we issue a single PO and buy the lot outright — you deal with one counterparty, not ten.

Is Sidestream a broker? +

No. A broker introduces a buyer and takes a commission, and you end up contracted to whoever they found. Sidestream buys the lot from you under a single PO and resells it. Your contract, invoice, and any dispute are with Sidestream.

How fast can a lot move? +

Most lots have committed buyers within days once we have details and rules.

How do you verify buyers? +

Every buyer is onboarded with business verification, license confirmation where applicable, and category/volume qualification.

Can you handle fulfillment if we can't ship from our DC? +

Yes — fulfillment is coordinated through licensed logistics partners. Hub pickup, multi-stop delivery, or direct ship, depending on the deal.
